About Me
As a kid with a knack for drawing, I regularly scavenged a sheet of copy paper, a No. 2 pencil and a well-worn eraser from the family office. With sharp observation skills and an affinity for details, I received my fair share of compliments by showing off my ability to sketch striking, expressive faces. Later as a teenager, I discovered ceramic bisque painting and spent more than one summer immersed in my new hobby.
Adulthood, however, brought practical demands that pushed art into the background as the need for steady paychecks marked my weeks, months and eventually years. I spent over a decade working as a page layout designer in the publishing industry—a job that played to my strengths but still left me craving work that felt more creative and meaningful.
Ironically, it was the industry’s own upheaval—the shift from print to digital—that opened the door to a new chapter as a glass artist. While certainly a step in the direction of my creative dreams, I found glass to be rigid and unforgiving as an artistic medium. And as it turned out, those days were short-lived, as the small gallery I worked at closed its doors.
As I found myself facing mid-life unemployment without any real prospects, I felt lost and alone.

I knew I had to reinvent myself, but I had no idea how. After a lot of soul-searching—and some beautifully unexpected divine encouragement—my Heavenly Father opened my eyes not only to my creative potential but also to the depth of His love. This ignited a fire in me, pushing me to grow my artistic abilities and finally pursue the dream I’d carried for years of becoming a relief tile artisan.
A cross between drawing and ceramics, relief sculpting was exactly what my spirit needed, as I simultaneously lost myself in the process and found myself being renewed. The tactile, responsive nature of clay and the fluidity of glaze proved to be more rewarding to work with than glass, with its sharp edges, had been. While forging an unclear path as an artist has had its challenges, the days again blurred into weeks, months and eventually years—each one bringing me more peace, greater healing and a deeper spiritual connection.
Now I find creative inspiration everywhere—in the graceful geometry of a flower, the playful antics of birds at the feeder, the endlessly varied twists and turns of tree branches reaching for the sky... The natural world's mix of order and spontaneity is a continual witness of the Master Creator's infinite nature.
